Recording Live Signal Data

The Recording fieldset allows users to capture real-time signal activity from the Babbeleaf device and store it in a pre-defined file. It displays the current filename and provides a shortcut to create new recordings via the Audio Settings page.

Functionality

  • Filename Display — Shows the currently selected recording file as defined on the Audio Settings page.
  • Start/Stop Integration — When a file is defined, pressing Start begins recording the Live input signal. Recording continues until:
    • The Stop button is pressed
    • The Babbeleaf device runs out of memory
  • New File Button — Redirects to the Audio page, where the user can define a new file and its parameters (bit depth, format, etc.).
  • Disabled State — If no file is defined (e.g., the user deletes or clears it on the Audio page), the Recording fieldset becomes blank and disabled. Recording cannot be initiated without an active file.

Usage Notes

Recording is only available when the Live signal source is selected. Signals from playback files or demo mode are not recordable. Users are encouraged to define recording files in advance before initiating a session to ensure data is properly stored.
